YABhg Tun Dr.Mahathir Launched The Sculptural Symbols of Human Aggression Exhibition at Petronas Galeri



Galeri Petronas' highly anticipated new exhibition,Rhythm of the 21st Century-Monologues of Raja Shahriman,was officially launched by YABhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad recently.The launch was also attended by the top management of Petronas such as YBhg. Datuk Anuar Ahmad,Vice President,Human Resources Division and Mr Mohd.Azhar Osman Khairuddin,Senior General Manager,Legal & Corporate Affairs Division and guest curator of the exhibition Tengku Elina Aziddin.
The exhibition showcases the latest artworks by Raja Shahriman Raja Aziddin,one of Malaysia's foremost contemporary sculptors,featuring 20 new large-scale sculptures,45 drawings and 15 paintings in a compelling show that symbolises the destructive nature of man.It reflects the notion that it is the innate nature of man to continually engage in conflicts in this new century,as it has been throughout the ages.
Rhythms of the 21st Century exhibition runs from 29 October 2009 till 24 January 2010 at Galeri Petronas,Level 3,Suria KLCC.Admission is free.

Guardian Launches Cute Collectable Big Headz Toys to Rewards its Customer

Maxis Awards 31 Scholarships to Outstanding Malaysians


Malaysia’s leading mobile operator Maxis Communications Berhad (“Maxis”)recently handed out the Maxis Scholarship for Excellence Awards (MSEA) to 31 scholarship recipients in the present of Malaysian Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Khaled Nordin and Maxis’ Chief Financial Officer,Ms Rossana Rashidi,at a specially organised awards ceremony in Westin Hotel,Kuala Lumpur .The 31 outstanding Malaysians will be able to pursue their studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, at their university of choice.
During the awards presentation,Dato' Seri Khaled said,"Maxis Scholarship for Excellence Awards" is a positive step towards contributing to the country’s human capital, which is crucial to counter the effects of globalisation. Efforts such as this help the nation build a progressive and strong generation of future leaders.”MSEA is divided into three categories, that is, the postgraduate programme for high achievers; the undergraduate programme for Maxis postpaid customers, and the undergraduate programme for children of Maxis employees. There are five allocations a year for the postgraduate awards.
In her speech Ms Rossana Rashidi, Maxis’ Chief Financial Officer said, “Since the inception of the programme in 2005 and over the next three years, Maxis have invested close to RM50 million into the Maxis Scholarship for Excellence programme and endowed scholarships to 18 postgraduate Malaysian students, and 44 undergraduate students. Maxis previously presented the undergraduate awards to 19 recipients on 24 April 2009.

Guardian Raised RM10,000 in It's Annual Charity Walkathon



Guardian a renowned leading health,beauty and personal care chain in Malaysia has again organised it's annual charity walkathon to generate awareness and raise charity funds for the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park recently. In this season an amount of RM10,000 has been raised ,bringing Guardian's total contribution to NASAM amounted to more than RM60,000 over a period of five years.
Selangor State Health Department's Head of Family Health Development-Dr.Thavamalar,
Representative from NASAM,Ms Tracy Cham and Guardian's General Manager of Pharmacy Practice Wan Hwei Yen were present to flag off the 3km walk beside the Sunway Lagoon's Auditorium at 9am.The eager participants came as early as 7am to register warmed up with a morning enrgizer work out by Caltrate before the race.More than 1500 particpants completed the walk with 30 NASAM strokees who finished a special route tailored to ensure that they too can be part of the event.

Carmaker Proton Launched Malaysia's First MPV-Proton Exora


“Proton Exora”,the fully home-grown 7-seater MPV was proudly presented by Proton Holdings Berhad at Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia recently.Attended by Malaysia's Prime Minister of -Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed and Chairman of PROTON Holdings Berhad,Dato’ Mohd Nadzmi, the launch marks the first of it's kind in Malaysia automobile history .

The Exora MPV features a Lotus-tuned 1.6 litre CamPro CPS engine with 4-speed automatic transmission,incorporating two ingenious technologies namely, Cam Profile Switching (CPS) and Variable Intake Manifold technology (VIM) to produce high power output and rapid response, whilst maintaining fuel efficiency.Safety features includes an extremely strong passenger cell and computer-aided designed crash structure that surpassed Euro-Ncap 4 Star safety rating requirements with twin front seat airbags and front seat-belt pretensioners, Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). Malaysian Dietitians Association & MASO Jointly Launched Nutrition Month Malaysia 2009


Nutrition Society of Malaysia, Malaysian Dietitians’ Association and Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO), have joined hands together to launch Nutrition Month Malaysia 2009 at Mid Valley Valley Exhibition Centre, Hall 3 recently.The healthy campaign is aimed to promote greater awareness, practice of healthy eating to attain nutritional well-being as well as to reach out to parents to ensure they are aware of the importance of childhood nutrition in formative years.

Present to officiate the launch was YBhg Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Hajah Dr. Aishah Ong, Chairman of the Malaysian Health Promotion Board together with Dr. Tee E Siong, Chairman of Nutrition Month Malaysia Steering Committee Prof. Dr. Mohd Ismail Noor, President of Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity, Mr. Mansor Fenner, Senior Manager of Malaysian Health Promotion Board and Ms Tan Yoke Hwa, President of Malaysian Dietitians’ Association.

Credit Guarantee Corporation and Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Sign Portfolio Gaurantee Agreement


Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) and Standard Chartered Bank Malaysian Berhad (Standard Chartered) has recently entered into a partnership agreement that would enable SCB to extend financial assistance to SMEs via the Portfolio Guarantee.First of its kind, the Portfolio Guarantee Agreement to be signed in the financial industry would enable SMEs not only to enjoy a new avenue to gain access to financing but also improved turnaround time in terms of approval and disbursement of loans.

Speaking to the media at the signing ceremony,CGC's Managing Director Datuk Wan Azhar Wan Ahmad said:"Through this arrangement designed for Standard Chartered's SMEs loans we hope to deliver speedier application processing time as the customers eligible for this portfolio guarantee are pre-selelcted based on certain criteria."

Lucky Petronas Customers Win BMW Cars and Grand Stand Tickets to F1 Grand Prix.


Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB),the retail arm of Petronas has rewarded two lucky finale out of its 194 winners of the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix Fever Promotion with two BMW cars at Petronas F1 Grand Prix Exhibition KLCC recently.The two lucky grand prize winners,Mr Selvamuthu Ramu,a 46 years old security manager from Seremban,Negeri Sembilan and Mrs Norazah Ahmad,a 41 years old teacher from Kepala Batas ,Pulau Pinang drove away a brand new BMW 525i Sports car worth RM391,221.00 each.The two also received a pair of Diamond Grand Stand tickets worth RM5,000 each.The remaining 386 Diamond Grand Stand tickets went to the other 192 lucky customers.

UMW Pennzoil:Optimistic of Bigger Market Share with "Feel The Clean" New Penzoil Motor Oil Range

Carrefour Malaysia has recently initiates the launch of "Stretch Your Ringgit" Campaign which focusses on pegging prices for many essential everyday products.Ths is Carrefour's commitment and continuous investment towards supporting the Government's Second Stimulus Package plan: to ease the burden of the people,in particular the vulnerable groups,so that they will still be able to do their normal groceries,despite the global economic slowdown.

Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad has recently signed a loan agreement of a RM50 million term loan facility with Casa Del Rio (M) Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur.The term loan facility under the "Tourism Infrastructure Fund" is for the purpose of financing the construction of a 4-storey 64-room boutique hotel known as Casa Del Rio( Spanish) or "Home by the river" located in the heart of Melaka town.Casa del Rio (M) Sdn Bhd has teamed up with Bank Pembagunan to build the boutique resort project in Melaka at development value of RM102 million scheduled for completion end 2010.Bank Pembangunan who provided the "Tourism Infrastructure Fund" under the supervision of Ministry of Finance & Tourism has uptodate approved a total of RM165 million loan facilities for the development of tourism sector in Melaka inclusive of the RM50 million term loan facilities to Casa del Rio Sdn Bhd.
The event also witnessed a signing of second agreement between Sing Seong Hing Sdn Bhd (Developer) and Casa Del Rio (M) Sdn Bhd.Chief Minister of Melaka,Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam who was accompanied by Melaka State Secretary,Yang Berhormat Datuk Wira Omar Kaseh witnessed the signing ceremony between Yang Amat Dihormati Tan Sri Syed Yusof Tun Syed Nasir,Group Managing Director of Casa del Rio (M) Sdn Bhd and Yang Berbahagia Dato' Tajuddin Atan President/Chief Executive Officer of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd together Mr Ong Hock Lai,Managing Director of Sin Seong Hin Sdn Bhd(Contractor).

RHB Investment Management Offers First Capital Protected Fund


RHB Investment Management Sdn Bhd (RHBIM) officially launched the RHB China Averaging Capital Protected Fund (RCACPF) recently,the first capital protected fund in the country that applies the principle of Dollar Cost Averaging while investing in the potential recovery of the China market.Aside from Dollar Cost Averaging,China is also chosen as the theme for the RCACPF due to its strength in withstanding the global financial crisis.

The combination of Dollar Cost Averaging with 100% capital protection in Ringgit Malaysia(If held until maturity) on the investment will appeal to investors during this volatile period because it lessens their worry about investing at the right or wrong time,"said Ms Sharifatul Hanizah Said Ali,Managing Director of RHBIM.

RCACPF is linked to the performance of the Stabiliser China Index,which is subjected to a dynamic risk adjustment linked to the realised volatility of the underlying index,the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index (HSCEI).The Stabiliser China Index comprises H-Shares listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange where they are included in the Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index.These H-Shares' companies generate at least 50% of their revenues from Mainland China and represent a diverse range of industries and sectors.

A 3-year closed-end structured fund,RCACPF will be investing up to 10% in Options and at least 85% in Zero Coupon Negotiable Instruments of Deposits to provide capital protection.The Fund is open for subsription from 2 March 2009 and will be available for purchase until end of the month,31 March 2009.Its main distributor is RHB Bank.

Riding on the success of the first two Shell-Ferrari model car campaigns of 2007 & 2008,Shell Malaysia has launched its latest and hottest set of five limited edition Shell-Ferrari model cars at 1 Utama Shopping Centre on the 3 March 2009.The launch was officiated by Dato' Mohzani Abdul Wahab,Managing Director,Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd.

Mofaz Group Bids to Extend It's Global Market Reach via World Series Motorsports.


Malaysia has recently created another history in the motorsports world when Mofaz Group,a company wholly owned by Malaysian businessman Mr Hj Mohamed Fauzy Abdul Hamid launched Mofaz Fortec, Malaysian first World Series racing team.The launch was graced by Sepang International Circuit chairman Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir,Automobile Association of Malaysia chairman Tunku Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha,Motorsports Commission of Malaysia chairman Datuk Azman Yahya and Fortec team boss Richard Dutton.

Guardian Pay Tribute to Its Customer Care Champions



Guardian ,the leading pharmacy,health and beauty retail chain organized a nationwide Customer Care campaign to identify and acknowledge employees whom have potrayed exceptional customer service.The campaign was kicked off early this year where each store nominated a candidate from two categories;management level-keyholders,supervisor and executives and the staff level-cashiers and sales assistants.Judging was based on the best customer service attributes including greetings,decorum,offering further assistance and going the extra mile.Nominated employees will be narrowed down to 13 candidates who were than selected to compete in a national Customer Care Competition held at Guardian Suria KLCC and the customer care champions walked away with a cash prize of RM1,000 each with 1st runner up taking home RM700 each and 2nd runner up ,RM500 each.The finalists were also given RM100 cash and a certificate of appreciation.

Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix 2009 F1 Promises A Combo of Music & Motorsports

Entering its 11th edition ,the 2009 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix is the second round of a 17-leg world championship this season and would be held from April 3 to 5.Speaking the media launch recently, officiated by Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Chairman Dato’ Mokhzani Mahathir,SIC Chief Executive Officer Mr Razlan Razali said It's going to be a very different kind of Formula One event in Sepang this year as the race would be starting later at 5pm this year instead of usual 3pm.He believes it's going to be more enjoyable for the drivers and competing teams as well as fans as it would be a much cooler race this year.

Targeting a full-capacity of 130,000 spectators for the race,Mr Razlan said F1 enthusiasts would be treated to 360 degree experience to cherish,with free access to the Mall area on Friday April 3 to savour the track practice and qualifying session.Running up to the event,fans could also win themselves attractive rewards and goodies at the pre-event road shows.A post-race open-air concert featuring superstar Jamiroquai will be among the new additions of supporting events for the upcoming 2009 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix,which promoter Sepang International Circuit (SIC) aimed to make as the best ever.
