Sony Malaysia Celebrates Its 20 years of Excellence With A Royal Touch

Sony EMCS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd ,Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Sony Supply Chain Solutions (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has jointly celebrate the companies' 20th anniversary, commemorating the 20 years of excellence and achievements of the Sony group of companies in Malaysia recently at JW Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya.Present to grace Sony's 20th year celebration were His Royal Highness- the Sultan of Selangor together with the presence of His Excellency-Mr Masahiko Horie-Japan Ambassador to Malaysia , Dr Ryoji Chubachi - President and Electronics CEO of Sony Corporation , Mr Satoshi Okawa -representative of Sony group of companies in Malaysia,Managing Director of Sony EMCS Malaysia , Mr Naoi Sudo- Managing Director of Sony Malaysia and Mr Taku Taguchi -General Manager of Sony Product Marketing Division as well as Mr. Kazumasa Seguchi, Managing Director of Sony Supply Chain Solutions Malaysia.

From a humble beginning of a small sales office and modest manufacturing facilities in 1988,Sony group of companies has enjoyed tremendous growth over the years and currently with over 15,000 employees Sony group not only contributed to the economic growth of the country but also to the Malaysian community.However as Sony continued to grow over the past 20 years,the companies in Sony group did not forget to give back to the society and has committed itself in many (CSR) Corporate Social Responsibilities activites such as the Blood Donation Drive (2007) ,annual Sony Nature Photography Project and annual Sony Media Achievement Awards (SOMA) and Sony United Tree Planting jointly organised with MBPJ (2008) as well as beach clean-up activities in (2007). At the event Mr Satoshi Okawa -representative of Sony group of companies in Malaysia and the Managing Director of Sony EMCS Malaysia said "As a member of the Sony United family worldwide,we aim to show our appreciation to our Community and will continue to be invloved in more community services as we move forword.During the ceremony ,Sony group of companies has also upholded it's corporate social responsibilities by donating BRAVIA LCD TV to 10 selected schools in Selangor and Penang.Each school will receive a 40 inch BRAVIA LCD TV for their educational purposes.There are a total of 8 companies related to Sony brand in Malaysia namely, Sony EMCS (Malaysia) Sendirian Berhad, Sony (Malaysia) Sendirian Berhad, Sony Supply Chain Solutions (Malaysia) Sendirian Berhad, Sony Precision Engineering Malaysia, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony BMG, Sony Ericsson and Mediamax, which is the sole distributor for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in Malaysia.
