NEC Introduces Latest Compact Touch Screen POS Terminal For Malaysia Market






NEC Corporation of Malaysia together with its strong arms ,NEC Corporation of Japan which boasts a long history of achievement in the development,construction and management of systems for the international retail, food and beverage industries has launched a new compact touch-screen POS terminal " TWINPOS 3500G1" at Kuala Lumpur recently.Present at the event were Mr Daisaku Takeuchi Managing Director of NEC Corporation of Malaysia, Mr. Lawrence Ang, General Manager of NEC Corporation Malaysia,, Mr. Chen Yuh Perng, Division Manager of Solution Sales Division of NEC Corporation Malaysia ,Mr. Kenji Inoue, Product Specialist of NEC Japan and Mr Kazuhiro Kakura, managing director of Best Dengki. The new TWINSPOS3500G1 features flexible space-saving design that enables it to occupy only 45% of conventional POS terminals ; A touch-panel screen and flash memory that doesnt require keyboard and fan;Efficiency with low failure rate plus low OS licence by Windows; A reliable metal-frame configuration that delivers a more robust structure ; Dedicated application software for the retail and restaurant industries ; Choice of 4 different models that includes line customer display and inbuilt hard disk drive ; expanded utility and wall-mounted POS terminal.Furthemore it provides a spindle-free(HDD-less) storage which enhances stable operation.The ultimate specifications include ULV Celeron M 600MHz (CPU),DDR SDRAM 512 MB of memory,SATA 40GB HDD or PATA 2.5 GB flash storage (alternative selection),12.1" SVGA full color TFT with touch panel (operator display) ,20 X 2 alphanumeric line display option (customer display) ,USB2.0 X 4 ports (2 with + 5v powered) Cash drawer X 1 port option (Interfaces), Windows Embedded for Point of Service (OS),ISO 1/2 option (Magnetic Strip reader), AC 100-240V (+6%,-10%) MAX 1.2A Power supply, 60W maximum to less than 1W (power consumption)




The launch also witnessed a signing ceremony between NEC and Best Denki Malaysia Sdn Bhd ,a Japanese electronics retail giant in which TWINPOS Malaysia will be the first company Malaysia to use NEC latest compact touch screen Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal (TWINPOS 3500G1) will be implemented at all Best Denki 13 retail outlets in Malaysia.
Total of more than RM1.5 million will be invested by Best Denki to upgrade its existing POS system hardware.Mr Kazuhiro said the installation of the latest POS terminals will bring a more efficient and greater shopping experience to the customers while Mr Daisaku believes Best Denki will be able to fully optimize the reliable POS terminals to improve its inventory management to manage consumer demands and ultimately resulting in better sales.
