Carlsberg Euro Futsal 2008 Is Endorsed by Embassies of Switzerland And Austria



Calrsberg together with European Union Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) has recently held its “Carlsberg EURO Futsal 2008" press launch at Mezzo Sports Bar, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel.At the media launch also witnessed the present His Excellency Dr Urs Stemmler,Ambassador of Switzerland and Mr Wolfgang Gmasz,Deputy Head of Mission of Austria who gave their full endorsement the event.Mr Marco Winter,Deputy Head of Mission of Austria,said Since early 1990s EUMCCI has actively been promoting better business relationships between the EU and Malaysia, by taking parts in promoting football to have a right mixture of business and pleasure (sports) .EUMCCI has invited teams from all European communities in Malaysia to participate in this friendly Futsal tournament, including participants from diplomat, corporate or social communities, as well as few teams from Malaysian government agencies, corporate sponsors and the media members who are actively involved in EURO 2008 publicity.He added The Carlsberg EURO Futsal 2008 event will take place at SportsPlanet Ampang on Friday 6 June and Saturday 7 June,where 24 teams with a total of about 300 players and officials will be involved in this exciting 2-day event. Super GT Inernational Series Malaysia Is Back In Sepang



Inspired by the success of the just-concluded Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix,Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is aiming a similar impact for the upcoming Super GT International Series Malaysia ,which will be held at the circuit from 20th to 22nd June 2008.The GT race in Sepang would be Round 4 of nine-round Super GT International Series 2008,where eight rounds are held in Japan.First organized in 2000 as an experimental project by Japan GT Association,the event was an instant success and within the third year,the race in Sepang was officially installed as one of the championship rounds;offering vital points for the teams and drivers in their quest of winning the overall crown.Speaking at the Super GT Pre-Launch Media Conference at Equatorial Hotel,Kuala Lumpur,SIC General Manager Datuk Azmi Murad said they are expecting an attendance of 65,000 spectators for the 2008 Super GT International Series Malaysia.He explained Super GT is a world class motor racing event similar to F1 but with its own kind of appeal and unlike Formula One,the Super GT race features road cars which can be owned and seen travelling along te normal roads.Therefore, fans can relate themselves better to Super GT races compared to Formula One,where the racing cars are not available for sale or personal ownership.The competing cars comprising all the top sports car models available in the market from the popular Japanese brands of Toyota, Nissan,Honda to European household names of Ferrari,Lamborghini, McLaren Mercedes and BMW.Apart from the main Super GT race ,fans also would be treated to the thrills and excitement from four support races-Asian Touring Car Series,the Asian Formula Renault,Asian GT Challenge,Formula V6 Asia Series and the Aston Martin Cup.Mr Azlan Akil, SIC Advertising and Promotions Manager said 2008 Super GT will promise racing fans the opportunity of catching the actions from the sky at several comfortable hot-air balloons strategically located at vantage points. Carlsberg Charity Campaign With Top Ten Artistes

GUARDIAN:Annual Charity Walkaton Generating Fun & Funds in The Sun

In a bid to generate awareness and raise charity funds for the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM),Guardian a renowned leading health,beauty and personal care chain in Malaysia,organised a charity walkathon on Saturday,April 26 at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.The 3 km walk was flagged off by the Selangor State Health Department Deputy Director, Dr Rahimah Mohd Ariffin and Guardian's Chief Operating Officer,Ms Loi Liang Tok from the Sunway Lagoon Auditorium at 9 am.The walkathon is aimed to highlight the importance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle in addition to raising funds for a worthy cause and the number of participants for this year has increased to more than1500 compared to last year as more Malaysians are taking their healths seriously.A special route was made available for the NASAM stroke es to ensure that they too can be part of the event.The walkathon has raised funds to support NASAM's programs for stroke patients and their families for the past four years. For this year,RM12,000 has been raised , bringing Guardian's total contribution to NASAM amounted RM50,000 over a period of four years.In her speech, Ms Loi Liang Tok said Guardian are committed and thrilled to host this event every year and they pledge to raise funds every year for worthy cause.In line with their theme"A Thousand Miles Begins With The First Step".She added, their eagerness in organising this walkaton is to raise funds for NASAM , which in turn it will be used to help stroke survivors.A host of fun family activities such as Acrobatics from China,antics of a balloon sculpting clown,face painters was installed for the participants during the event and the appearance of Guardian brand Ambassadors and 3R TV program hosts; Rafidah,Kartini and Celina also increased the excitement .Prizes amounting to more than RM3000 and cash vouchers was also given away to the walkathon winners and lucky participants.
